Tuesday was here again the boys are coming to town .that’s Rob, John, Allan, Rob said he had some records that he wanted to give to me. First thing to do was have a feed Allan brought the bread rolls, John the ham enough for at least another four people all I had to do was supply beetroot, onion, avacardo knife tea bags coffee & sugar for Allan, simple food at the bookshop.
First thing on the agenda load my new record shelf with the new stock a mixture of modern & classical music, but at least three hundred 12″ LP’s all in excellent condition, it had only taken me about a month from buying the timber to finally screwing it together presto its in at last. All of these will be for sale in the shop
Our day was different from all of the other days usually talking about books repairing & fixing it was taken up with talk about records how Rob & Co used to listen no talking just soaking up the music from Tchaikovsky, Chopin, Puccini Greig, Schubert and many other classical LP’s . Allan informed me that it was strictly no talking just keep quite & listen, shades of my childhood children should be seen but not heard I remember it well. How about you?
The modern one were Kenny Rogers, Willie Nelson, Sade, Barbara Streisand, Julio Iglesias, Stevie Nicks, Roy Orbison
But John did eventually find a book he desperately wanted War of the Windsors a subject which one would think he didn’t need to read anymore about, but when your passionate about a subject you just buy these books to find those little details however small, they go to expand the whole canvas.
Allan is always looking for used books thats all he does ratting out those used & rare books of his choosing from Australian books on trains and local history books then there is the modern history books like Adventurers and Exiles: The Great Scottish Exodus by Marjory Harper
For Rob I think I’ve given him every Clive Cussler, Jack Higgins & Sir Arthur Conan Doyle used books I had at one time or other plus he is also so busy helping people that I don’t know when he gets time to read books anyway.
The time has come for me to get to back to work the boys have to get back home, so its see you next week take care till then. “Hoo roo cobbers”
